Before I started traveling round the world, I did a short trip visiting some cities in Europe. Berlin was my favourite city amongst them. I took this photo on Alexanderplatz, the central place of former Eastern Berlin.

Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate is a symbol of the reunified Germany: When Germany was split into West and East and Berlin separated by the Berlin Wall, this gate was located right on the Berlin Wall. This square labelled "Place of March 18" commemorates the first free elections in Eastern Germany held on march 18, 1990.

While the Frauenkirche ("womens church") is the most known religious building in Dresden, Dresden Cathedral also features impressive architecture that I captured on a long exposure during my photographic evening walk around the city.

Together with the TV tower "Alex", the world time clock is the iconic symbol of Berlin's Alexanderplatz. Formerly a central square in Eastern Berlin, the soviet architecture is still visible today despite the presence of several "western" shopping centres.
